The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition is excited to announce our upcoming national juried art show, ‘Color’. We are privileged to have one of NYC’s art elite, Jocelyn Miller, Assistant Curator at MoMA PS1 as our juror. With her guidance and selections, we can expect BWAC’s curators for COLOR, Janice Jacob and Alicia Degener, to mount an exceptionally exciting exhibition!
I am excited to be participating in the Satellite Art Show NYC edition for the first time with Treat Gallery! 1/3 of the sale of each artwork will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign. Treat will be exhibiting my new series created specifically for their prompt, featuring works comprised of 70% one color.
About: SATELLITE ART SHOW presents interactive projects by young dealers, artist-run spaces and non-profits. By fostering a range of programming, SATELLITE is able to offer patrons and collectors with a unique experience where art is at the forefront of creative expression, activism, and curiosity. So thrilled to be included in Treat Gallery’s Satellite Art Show booth during SXSW week! March 13-17, 2019.
Renowned Art Fair SATELLITE ART SHOW (popular for their Art Basel Miami platform) has released its SXSW Week program. Once again, SATELLITE has curated a dynamic array of cutting-edge contemporary art and has paired that with a robust performance and music program. The fair will transition from art experience during the day into an all-encompassing/art-focused performative playground. From low-brow to high-brow, SATELLITE has something for everyone. Collect fantastic works of art, stay for a record label showcase, get a new tattoo, get interviewed for the Glasstire podcast, participate in our paint-the-bus project, check out critical performance art, experience our 3-D mapped VR environment or simply have a drink with us just outside the fray of central SXSW. No two moments at SATELLITE will be the same. If you are looking for an event that embraces #keepaustinweird then SATELLITE is for you. We look forward to engaging with the Austin community!
On Tuesday evening, March 12th, nearly 50 acclaimed chefs, over 400 guests, 11,900 cookies and more than 50 donated works of art can be found at Metropolitan West in New York City for the 6th Annual Chefs for Kids' Cancer gala to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Chefs prepare a 4-course custom meal for individual tables, pastry chefs create cookies for our cookie jar favor, and guests participate in a live auction with once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Chefs for Kids' Cancer attendees have been overwhelmed by the spirit of giving and donations from the past four years totaled more than $5 million! The generosity of so many chefs, sponsors, donors and supporters make it possible to join together each year and live out our mission to help children battling cancer. We believe TOGETHER WE CAN. Find out more about the event below, and keep checking back as we're continually adding updates!

Zip! Pop! Bang! Run! It's The Cops: International Invitational Exhibition on the Influence of Pop Art on Street Art
"Zip! Pop! Bang! Run! It's The Cops!: Contemporary Pop Art and it's influence on Street Art" International Invitational Exhibition
The Pop Art movement which emerged in Britain and the United States during the mid- to late-1950s, is that of comics, of bright silkscreen prints, of nostalgia... It later became a strong influence on graffiti artists and street artists, from Banksy to Mr. Brainwash and so many more. You can now find pop art influences in murals all across the country. This exhibition will give you a taste of some of my personal favorite aspiring and mid-career pop artists and street artists.

The first, Astral Cemetery, is an anti-sentimental, literary, and sociological retelling of a young girl’s death, at least partly, anyway. The second is based on the Colombian conflict, and is decidedly not a narconarrative. She won the Henfield Prize in Fiction for Astral Cemetery.
Oscar is a Brooklyn-based writer from Kansas. He received his MFA from Syracuse University. About MoRA: Since its founding in 1980, The Museum of Russian Art (formerly the C.A.S.E. Museum of Russian Art in Exile) has been paramount to the introduction of Russian art to American audiences. With its core collection largely culled from human rights activist Alexander Glezer’s private holdings, the museum’s collection during its formative years was on a par only with that of Norton Dodge for that time.

More about the show: "Vellum Magazine is pleased to present NYC, which will run from March 2nd to March 19th in CENTRAL BOOKING's OffLINE space. New York City has always been a melting pot of not only people but ideas, hopes and dreams. What is captured through the work of these fourteen artists is a mood that is reflective of a huge metropolis. It can be literal, metaphorical or biographical but something in the narrative shows us a glimpse of this great city in a unique and timely way. Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 3, 6-8p."
